下面是几个关于姜文的故事。有的确有其事，有的是道听途说，不一定都真实准确，不过看着也都像他。

1。他对当年在嘎纳电影节上比《鬼子来了》多一票获得金棕榈奖的《黑暗中的舞者》不太感冒，说：“那不就是个外国白毛女的事么。”

2。对于毛泽东，他有跟一般“毛时代的经历者”完全不在一个层面上的评价。根据这种评价，他对历来在影视作品中饰演毛泽东的演员大都不屑一顾。“他们都把他演成干部了，”他说，“而他怎么能是干部呢？”

3。在《让子弹飞》之前，别人给他推荐了好几部香港黑帮片，他似乎是咬着牙看的，基本上都不太看得上，特别对于枪支的使用，他认为都不对。后来他看了杜琪峰的《放逐》，觉得只有这个还不错。

4。他迷恋《教父》中马龙·白兰度的表演，能把片中白兰度的大部分台词都用英文背诵下来，而且是用白兰度的口音背诵。然后他把自己的声音录下来用手机发给朋友们尝试效果，都说有点像。

5。他的第二个儿子出生后，跟朋友请教给孩子起名，都不满意。几天后他看了莱昂内的《革命往事》，对片子的评价未知，但他发给朋友们通报他打算给孩子起的名字——叫“莱昂内·姜”，后面还认真地打了个“？”号。

6。他分好几天看完了《盗火线》，没有别的评价，只强调说德尼罗的演技比帕西诺厉害得多。接着他看了英国人的那部小片《杀手没有假期》，十分佩服电影的剧作，认为高级。

7。他学习比较认真。拍摄《太阳照常升起》时，他找了个老师学习诗词，把平仄的规矩弄熟了，然后很踏实地把“不许吹牛逼”这样的话写进诗词里，并强调合辙。

（附：那一年，姜文的《太阳》不敌李安的《色·戒》，没能在威尼斯电影节上“升起”，评选结果公布后，姜文填了一首《念奴娇》：
